Thorpe Marsh Project
SLP Energy is in the early stages of examining the potential for developing a wind farm on land at Thorpe Marsh, Arksey, near Doncaster.
In October 2008, planning consent was granted by Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council for a meteorological mast to gather site specific data on the wind speeds and direction, for a temporary period of 24 months. This mast was installed at the end of October 2008.
The proposal consists of up to 3 wind turbines. More specific details will be defined through the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process.
A scoping opinion has been received from Doncaster Borough Council, and environmental studies and reviews are being carried out in accordance with consultees and stakeholders requirements.
When the majority of the environmental studies have been completed, a full public consultation exercise will be undertaken. This will be prior to the submission of any planning application.
